Bus Questions

A “Coach”, as used here, is just another more sophisticated name for a fancy, deluxe bus. The buses WE use are all Deluxe Coaches! NICE!!

  • Capacity: Up to 56 passengers.
  • Onboard Restroom: Available for urgent needs, but we encourage using facilities at rest stops.
  • Storage:
    • Overhead bins for smaller items like gear.
    • Underbelly storage for larger items such as coolers or backpacks (accessible in DC and at stops upon request).
  • Comfort:
    • Reclining seats with seatbelts.
    • Overhead lighting and climate control adjustments.
  • Power and Charging:
    • Grounded AC power outlets and USB ports for your devices.
  • Connectivity and Navigation:
    • WiFi available for your use.
    • GPS bus tracking system, useful if you get lost or for those picking you up at the end of the trip.

  1. Role: A volunteer with Ohio Patriots, not an employee of the bus line, who takes on the responsibility of managing passenger logistics for their designated coach.

  • Duties:
    • Passenger Management: Keeps track of passengers boarding and disembarking.
    • Ticket and Form Collection: Handles the collection of tickets and any required forms.
    • Information Dissemination: Provides necessary information to passengers through printed materials, verbal communication, or via the coach's Public Address (PA) system.
  • Support: If you encounter any issues related to the bus, the Bus Captain (or Co-Captain) serves as your liaison to communicate with the bus driver to resolve the problem.

  • No! Once you board your bus, you cannot switch to another bus during the day unless you have approval from both the bus captains of the buses involved.
  • Upon approval, you will be issued a new corresponding wristband.
  • Risk: If you attempt to change buses without following this procedure, you risk not returning to your starting point, and it would then be your responsibility to arrange your own transportation.

  • Please fill the seats from the back of the coach first when you board. This ensures efficient seating as:
    • Early boarders will be arranging their belongings in personal spaces and overhead compartments, potentially blocking the aisle.
  • Expect Full Capacity: These buses will likely be completely full, with no empty seats once everyone is aboard.
  • Seat Requirement: Everyone must be seated in a designated seat. Standing or sitting in the aisle is not permitted, except when briefly waiting to use the onboard restroom.

  • No Personal Reservations: We do not allow the reservation of seats for individuals or groups. If you wish to sit with your group, arrive early and board together.
  • Special Reservations:
    • Sections are reserved for passengers boarding en route, ensuring they have an equal chance to sit with their group.
    • Two seats at the front of the coach are reserved for Bus Captains due to their need for proximity to the coach's entrance and the PA system microphone.
  • Respecting Reservations:
    • Please respect seats marked with "Reserved" signs. Do not choose these seats or remove or move the signs.

Thank you for your cooperation.

  • Charter Arrangement: The Ohio Patriots Fleet has been chartered for our excursion. To the bus line, Ohio Patriots is their sole customer, not the individual passengers. Therefore, they are not involved with:
    • Individual ticket pricing
    • Reservations
    • Ticketing
    • Payments
  • Communication: The bus line cannot answer questions related to our event's specifics.
  • System: Our reservations and payment system is entirely online.
  • Policy: No exceptions can be made, due to numerous logistical and operational reasons.

Regarding the Day in DC

We plan to arrive in DC at approximately 6am on January 20, 2025. When you arrive in DC, we have no planned events of ours, so you are on your own, except to Depart (boarding begins at 5:30pm) to Return home at approximately 6pm from Union Station. These times ARE subject to change.

No.

Once purchased, Cancelled Reservations are not refundable.

Tickets are offered as non-refundable, but then again we are all humans and life doesn't cooperate. If you can find someone else to take your ticket, great. (IMPORTANT: make sure we know who it is and their cell phone number). If WE can resell your ticket for you, we will try. Contact Us.

  • Inauguration Cancellation or Relocation: If the inauguration is officially canceled or moved indoors where we cannot view it, we will not proceed with the trip if we have advance notice.
  • Weather-Related Cancellation: If road conditions are too hazardous for travel, this decision is made by Bus Line Management.
  • Trip Cancellation Refunds: Should the trip be entirely canceled, we will refund any amounts refundable to us, equally divided among those who purchased tickets online.
  • Personal Cancellation: If you decide not to go at the last minute, your ticket is non-refundable unless the entire trip is canceled.

If the entire trip is canceled, refunds will begin being issued immediately after we receive all of our refunds from suppliers Because each one is manually processed, it may take several days to get them all completed.

No. All reservations must be purchased when you make them (just like any other event or travel ticket)

  • Passenger Tracking: Volunteer Bus Captains will closely monitor who is aboard the bus at every departure point, rest stop, and when leaving DC.
  • Communication: If you're not on board, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you.

If we show availability at that location, then yes. There may be multiple buses leaving some of the same Departure Locations, so get there early so you can board the same bus together.

That particular location may be sold-out. If you arrived at that page, we may still be able to accommodate you. (When a location is completely full, we disable that link and note it as sold out, but there may be other internal circumstances causing that error) There is a Contact Form for that purpose.

Yes. Instructions to get on a stand-by list are on the reservation page.  We often charter additional coaches, (if we can, and) if we have enough interest in doing that.

This type of ticket is refundable ONLY if we are not able to accommodate you with a seat(s). Once we confirm your seat(s), they are no longer refundable.
