A One-Day Trip Approximate Schedule

Jan 19 Depart NE Ohio around 11pm (times vary by location)

Inauguration at noon - Parade at 3PM
Approximately 6pm - Depart DC - 7-hour return ride to NE Ohio
Jan 21, 2025 - Arrive back in NE Ohio early (around 1AM).

Getting Around in DC

Walking Distance:

The distance marked by the yellow arrows is slightly over 2 miles. Plan to walk at least 5 miles during the day, likely more if you want to explore or follow the parade route:
- The parade route along Pennsylvania Avenue (indicated by the blue arrow) stretches from the Capitol to the White House.

Time in DC:

We'll be in Washington, D.C. for approximately 11 hours. Although exact times are not finalized, we'll arrive early and stay until dusk.

Do I Need Event Tickets?

Transportation vs. Event Access:

Our service provides round-trip transportation only. It does not include tickets for close access to the stage. To obtain those, you must contact your congressional representative.

Public Viewing:

For those without stage access, The Mall is available as a non-ticketed area. Keep in mind:
- No seating is provided, so bring a blanket.
- Large Trinitron monitors will be set up for viewing the ceremony.

Restroom Facilities in the Capitol

Be prepared to see thousands of porta-potties along the roads.
Consider bringing your own toilet paper and hand sanitizer for comfort.

Heated Indoor Options:

Union Station offers indoor, heated restrooms. Our coaches will be parked there for the entire event.

Onboard and Rest Stop Facilities:

Each bus is equipped with onboard restrooms, but using the facilities at scheduled rest stops is recommended for comfort

Food and Beverages

Bring your own food, snacks, and drinks for both the bus journey and while in DC. Consider packing a small cooler to store in the coach's underbelly storage.
Fast food is available in DC if that's your preference. Check out Dining at Union Station for options.

Rest Stops:

The bus will make brief stops at two locations both on the way to and from DC.
- Heading to DC in the middle of the night, expect most food shops to be closed.
- On the return, anticipate long lines with limited time to grab something quick.

Security Restrictions:

Large coolers or large backpacks are not allowed on Inauguration grounds.

Weather in DC on January 20

(Warmer than NE Ohio!)

Numerous websites offer forecasts for Washington D.C. on January 20th. The average high temperature for January is around 43°F.
Weather can vary widely; it might be much colder or even reach up to 65°F.
The Farmer's Almanac suggests temperatures could be between 45°-47°F - and they're serious!
